Skydive Challenge supports veterans Tiny & Sons owner Peter Brown taking part in fundraiser

Pembroke Express - 6/22/2018

Heidrea for Heroes, a non-profit organization that lifts burdens for veterans facing hardships will hold its 3rd Annual Skydive Challenge on Saturday, June 23. All proceeds from the event will support Heidrea for Heroes' work in providing custom support to veterans in need from throughout southeastern Massachusetts.

Sixteen thrill-seeking supporters will be tandem skydiving with Skydive South Boston at Cranland Airport in Hanson on June 23. The 2018 roster of skydivers includes Bill Dodge, a retired Navy veteran who resides in Abington and is the Veteran Service Officer for the town of Marshfield. Peter Brown from Pembroke and Tiny & Sons and Meaghan Doherty of Plymouth have also teamed up together to participate. The roster also includes Plymouth residents Kathryn Gallerani, a reporter for Wicked Local, Plymouth Selectman Tony Provenzano, Meghan Keller, an Iraq War Army veteran, Kevin Hennessey, a Marine Corps veteran, Ann Luongo, Amanda Roy, Bobby Strickland and Mary Currier; Carver residents Todd Johnson, Saran Craig, Stephanie Clougherty, and Harley-Anne Hamilton; Brian Faghan from Kingston; and Whitman resident Meghan Cleaves.

The skydivers, who were required to raise $1,000 minimum, are in a friendly competition to raise the most money before they jump. They have been fundraising from friends, family and colleagues, but all welcome donations from the public as well. To learn more about each of them, including their profile and motivation for participating, or to donate to the skydiver of your choice, visit www.heidrea4heroes.org/events.

"This incredible crew of skydivers represents a range of backgrounds and reasons for participating, but they all have a deep appreciation for Veterans and want to give back. We're so grateful for their support and we're looking forward to an exciting day" said Amy Belmore, Managing Director of Heidrea for Heroes.

Heidrea for Heroes' range of support includes home renovations for disability access, qualified home repairs for healthy living, mobility equipment, utility bill relief and more. They also offer programs for veterans seeking jobs and those enrolled in college degree programs. For information, visit www.heidrea4heroes.org.
